sorry but controls are terrible - why use the mouse when z,x would be perfectly fine when using arrow keys ?
makes it too hard to play on a laptop !
thank you for the feedback, the game was originally going to use Gamepads but decided to scrap that out, but i will keep in consideration the control layout you just presented for future releases
I was just coming down to make a similar comment, when I saw yours. I've seen a trend of this on itch lately actually, developers using the mouse just for another button, and yes, it makes a lot of itch platformers unplayable unless I decide to go hook up a mouse just to play a casual web game.
I asked another developer on this site about that a little while ago, and the response was seriously that he just didn't know what other control to use.
I really am curious though why so many games recently seem to be using the mouse to trigger effects that have no precision requirements. I wonder if it's just because new game developers now are just so used to mouse-controlled games that they just automatically associate "fire" with "left mouse" and don't think about the reasons why those games use the mouse for firing?
agreed , ive noticed it too ... but when you look at top level games eg hollow knight and ori etc they always use arrow keys and zxc so i dont understand why devs dont take that as the standard to follow ?
Love the art and the story, I liked the controls and the gameplay actually was kind of difficult, which is nice you have to earn the story. Solid stuff especially for such a short game jam
Super cool! Love the story. Love the animations especially with the fire attack and when the robot dies. The Dash was hard to do. I could not figure it out. Solid Level design and music too!
thanks bro, i was going to ask you to make the music but didn't want to bother so decided to experiment
thank you man you are worth a million
